At the end of each semester, the students are evaluated in terms of letter grades and reports which have the following equivalent grade points and connotations:

The student is required to fulfill the following conditions :

  1. To maintain an average grade point of 2.00 at the end of each academic year.
  2. Should not obtain more than one ["F"] in an academic year.
  3. During the academic year, he/she should not have obtained more than 4 ["D"s] = [(D+), (D), or (D-)] without       ["F"] in any course, OR 2 ["D"s]=  [(D+),(D), or (D-)] with ONE ["F"] in any course.

If a student does not fulfill any of the above mentioned requirements, he/she will not be promoted to the next year/declared eligible for conferment of the Degree.

  • In case of failing, he/she will have to repeat the courses in which he/she has obtained [D+] or lower grades as well as fulfill the requirements given under (i), (ii), and (iii). All the rules applicable to a regular student shall also be applicable to such a  student i.e. payment of full fees as a repeater student, appearing in mid-sem, end-sem etc. examinations, attendance requirements, etc.
  • In case, a student obtains ["F"] grade in a course but secures an average grade point of 2.00 during an academic year, he/she will have to obtain at least [D-] grade in the said course in the ensuing semester/year.
  • If a student has not been able to complete any course, he/she will be given ["I"] report implying incomplete.  This grade will have to be removed within a specific time period as allotted by the Department, failing which he/she will be given ["F"] grade.
  • Besides a satisfactory performance in various courses during the first year, the student will also have to complete satisfactorily the summer project in an organization arranged by the Department and submit a project report which shall be evaluated for Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory performance. In case of unsatisfactory report, he/she will have to repeat the same at the end of the second year.

  • The students are required to undertake an on-the-job training of about six to eight weeks duration at the end of second semester.

Since the MBA Programme is a professional course wherein the students will be subject to a continuous evaluation throughout the duration of the programme, no class/division will be awarded.  The students shall be recommended for the award of MBA Degree, only after satisfactory completion of all the requirements of the programme as laid down by the Department. Hence, there shall be no provision in the programme with regard to gracing and/or condonation in any form.
